Project Fellowships

Turkish Studies Project Fellowships will be selected on a competitive basis from candidates who have been admitted to the University of Utah and accepted into a doctoral graduate program. Candidate applications will be ranked based upon their academic record as well as on how well their work matches the themes and parameters of the program as described:

Dissertation research on the events of World War I in the Ottoman Territories.

The fellowship selection committee will include the Project Director, a representative from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Office and a representative of the Turkish Coalition of America. The Project director of the University of Utah shall have the right to make the final decision about the each candidate proposed for a Program fellowship.

Admissions Requirements and Guidelines for Turkish Studies Project Fellowships:

All applicants must apply, and be accepted, to both the University of Utah Graduate School and to a University of Utah departmental doctoral graduate program.

Applicants must be active and enrolled full-time prior to, and during, the fellowship award.

i) Verification of acceptance to the University of Utah Graduate School,
ii) Verification of acceptance to a University of Utah doctoral graduate program,
iii) Application for Turkish Studies Project Fellowship,
iv) Letter of Intent,
v) Academic Writing Sample,
vi) Copy of Official GRE Scores,
vii) Copy of Official Transcripts, and
viii) Three academic letters of reference, which must be in separate, sealed envelopes with the writer's signature across the seal.


Deadlines: Application files must be complete by January 15 to be considered for the following fall admission, by September 15th for the following spring admission. It is the applicants responsibility to verify that all admissions documents have been received.
