Ashley Jolin

I chose political science as a major because I had decided in high school that I wanted to become a politician later in life.

Favorite Tips:

Keep a balanced lifestyle.  Even if a class is boring, find something intriguing about it.  Challenge yourself.  Focus on the objectives.

Extracurricular Activities:

I am a founding member of Alpha Phi at the University of Utah.  I am also a Bennion Center Service Learning Scholar.  I volunteer at the Utah Parent Center.  I love to play tennis and write novels.

Research:

I have researched everything, ranging from nuclear power plants, to education systems, to the economic warfare between the United States and China.  I am currently researching national education reform for children with special needs.  I love to learn about everything.

Internship work:

I worked for two semesters for the Patrice Arent House District 36 campaign; I worked at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium; I worked for the Real Women Run campaign alongside staff at the Hinckley Institute of Politics; I have worked as an intern at the MUSE Project; I worked at the Utah State Legislature as an intern; I took part in the Washington D.C. Capitol Encounter; finally, I was an intern in the Sen. Bennett Resident Scholar course.

Currently my post-graduation plans are to pursue a joint MBA-JD degree.
