Supporting Programs

All gifts are important to the Political Science Department and the University of Utah, but the gifts that permit the most flexibility are those that are not restricted. Greatest needs or unrestricted gifts are valuable because they are the resources that meet the ever-changing and often unexpected challenges of the future.

Annual Fund

The Political Science Education and Faculty Development Fund provides support to students and faculty in their research endeavors and support for involvement in seminars, confrence participation and national and international programs.

Faculty Recruitment Fund

Our commitment to recruit and retain the very best faculty in the field of political science is acheived through our Faculty Recruitment Fund. In order for the University of Utah to continue its legacy of providing high quality education to all who desire it.

Francis Wormuth Lecture Series

Dr. Francis D. Wormuth, one of the original professors in the University of Utah Political Science Department concentrated on the foundations of American constitutionalism and the seminal writings of the republican theorists. Initiated to honor the contributions of Dr. Wormuth, this fund provides support for lecturers on topics in political theory and political history.

American Foreign Policy Lecture Series

Organized by the Political Science Graduate Student Advisory Committee the American Foreign Policy Lecture series provides the opportunity to present lectures by renown scholars. The lecture series is also sponsored by the John Price Foundation, the ASUU, the Vice President for Undergraduate Studies, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the Hinckley Institute of Politics, the Vice President for Diversity, the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President for University Relations.

Service Learning Cooperative Fund

In collaboration with the Lowell Bennion Community Service Center and Utah Neighborhood Partners, the Political Science Department and the University of Utah has been able to offer service-based learning experiences to our students. Your philanthropic help provides the University with resources to deliver world-class results through discovery, teaching and community service.

Neal A. Maxwell Presidential Endowed Chair

This endowment supports a senior scholar who focuses on political theory, public policy, and public service--reflecting Neal A. Maxwell's teaching interests, lifelong career of service, and the department's interest in addressing current issues in public policy. The endowment was created by friends of Neal A. Maxwell in 2000 to honor his contributions to the University of Utah.
