Ashley Jolin
I chose political science as a major because I had decided in high school that I wanted to become a politician later in life.
Favorite Tips:
Keep a balanced lifestyle. Even if a class is boring, find something intriguing about it. Challenge yourself. Focus on the objectives.
Extracurricular Activities:
I am a founding member of Alpha Phi at the University of Utah. I am also a Bennion Center Service Learning Scholar. I volunteer at the Utah Parent Center. I love to play tennis and write novels.
Research:
I have researched everything, ranging from nuclear power plants, to education systems, to the economic warfare between the United States and China. I am currently researching national education reform for children with special needs. I love to learn about everything.
Internship work:
I worked for two semesters for the Patrice Arent House District 36 campaign; I worked at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium; I worked for the Real Women Run campaign alongside staff at the Hinckley Institute of Politics; I have worked as an intern at the MUSE Project; I worked at the Utah State Legislature as an intern; I took part in the Washington D.C. Capitol Encounter; finally, I was an intern in the Sen. Bennett Resident Scholar course.
Post-graduation plans:
Currently my post-graduation plans are to pursue a joint MBA-JD degree.
